Initial Assessment

Your initial assessment will last between 30-40 minutes depending on your injury. We always get some treatment in towards the end as well so you can get a feel for what we do. It is advisable that you wear loose fitting clothes and bring shorts. If you are a runner or compete in any high impact sports, always bring your trainers or boots to the assessment. If you have anything else that you feel may be of assistance to the Physiotherapist please bring that along too.

Follow Up Treatment

Physiotherapy follow up sessions last between 30-40 minutes. The exact time will depend on the requirements of your injury and treatment. You can expect hands on treatment from your Physiotherapist and you will always be told what to expect from your follow up sessions. It may also be necessary for you to undergo some exercise in the form of rehabilitation so again loose fitting clothes and trainers are helpful.

Home Visits

Should you wish to be treated at home we can arrange home visit by appointment. Our hands-on manual approach to treating injuries means that we don’t need vast amounts of equipment. We have excellent portable physiotherapy couches suitable for delivering both Sports Massage and Manipulative treatments. If your house is within 5 miles of one of our physiotherapy clinics we charge £80 per session. Should we need to travel further than this the cost will be £100 per session.

Biomechanical Assessment

Depending on your requirements, a biomechanical assessment will last between 30-60 minutes. We offer a range of orthotics covering all sports, occupations, and personal situation. Your Physiotherapist will advise you as to the best course of action based on your individual requirements. You should always bring your regular day-to-day footwear to the assessment, as well as any more specialist footwear or training shoes.

Custom Fitted

When being fitted for a bespoke pair of orthotics the assessment may last up to 60 minutes. It will be necessary to cast your feet in plaster of paris in order to create a mould for the orthotic. This mould along with our biomechanical assessment will be analysed in the lab. Your orthotics can then be cast to a fine degree of specification depending on your working or sporting requirements. It usually takes around 4 weeks to create your bespoke orthoses.

Off the Shelf Devices

The assessment and fitting for off the shelf orthotics lasts around 30 minutes. You will need to purchase one of our recommended orthotics. This can be done through your Physiotherapists, or via our Online Shop. Although they are a generic fit, they will be modified and your Physiotherapists will customise your orthotic in clinic. You will usually be able to take your new orthotic away with you at the end of the assessment. It is important to bring all relevant footwear to the assessment. .
